While Chromebooks come at a fairly cheaper price compared to a laptop, with the new decision to merge Chrome apps to Android play store, they are a good value product when it comes to a student’s academic activity.
Last week, speculations were rife that the Chrome OS will be "folded into" the Android. Google has since debunked the rumor with a tweet from SVP for Android and Chrome OS, Hiroshi Lockheimer.
The other week, Droid Report released news about Toshiba's upcoming Chromebook 2. For those who are not familiar with Chromebooks, however, here are the basics on the Chrome OS-powered machines.
Google's "Pixel" branding was first used on a premium Chromebook. Chromebooks were known to be entry-level devices, pared-down laptops used mostly for surfing the Web. The Pixel C, however, is a different animal altogether.
Toshiba is set to release a set of two new models of their Chromebooks in October. These laptops carry the latest-generation Intel Broadwell chips, and will feature backlit keyboards and a crisp, booming sound.
