LG G6 Mini Specs & Release Update: A 5.4-Inch Display Is Gearing Up To Storm The Market

May 04, 2017 06:17 AM EDT

The original LG G6 was announced at the MWC 2017. It features a 5.7 inch IPS screen with 1440x2880 pixels display. The LG G6 Mini will have a 5.4-inch screen and will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, making it more powerful than the original G6.

The leaked images of the LG G6 Mini show it to have the same build and design as the LG G6, only with smaller dimensions. As reported by Techno Buffalo, the pictures also show it resemble the LG G6 in having a horizontal dual-camera setup as well as the fingerprint sensor at the back. The images having shown the device in black, it is not known whether the G6 Mini will also be available in three colors like its bigger variant.

Unfortunately, nothing can be told about the internal features of the device from the pictures. Running on Android Nougat 7.0 OS, the original LG G6 sports Snapdragon has 821 chipsets with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage. It has a 13 MP primary and 5 MP secondary camera with a 3300 mAh battery. It can be expected that the mini version of this Smartphone would pack specifications a little down from the bigger variant.

According to Digital Trends, LG could also up its processor game by releasing the LG G6 Mini. While the LG G6 operates on the relatively old Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, LG could release the G6 Mini with the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Also, It will have a screen-to-body ratio of just under 80%.

Whether LG would even release the G6 Mini and if so, whether by this name only, is a matter of uncertainty. However, many budget buyers are waiting to see if it is released as a mid-range Smartphone with similar specs as the $700 LG G6. Meanwhile, for more updates on LG G6 mini stay tuned with us!
