Gen 2’s Blissey & Gen 1’s Dragonite Top ‘Pokemon GO’ Gym Attackers List

A gaming website identified the top two gym attackers for “Pokemon GO.” In naming Blissey of Gen 2 and Dragonite of Gen 1 as the game’s top gym attackers, the expert explains the choice of the two Pokemon to few things that could resist the dragon-type moves of the two monsters. In addition, the two could quickly end most fights, according to their damage-per-second stats.

Gen 2 Update

According to Game Press, Dragonite has a disadvantage only against Steelix and Lapras. Powerhouse Blissey wins her way through fights with little difficulty in “Pokemon GO.” It could be difficult to keep Blissey topped off if the gamer has yet to unlock max revives and max potions, AP reports.

Other than Blissey, the gaming website listed 29 other Pokemon top gym attackers, divided into five tiers, based on its up-to-date research on gym battle simulations, plus estimates of player skill and defender Pokemon frequency in the metagame of “Pokemon GO.” Tier 1 has two which are Dragon Tail Outrage/Dragon Breath or Dragon Claw and Pound Hyper Beam.

The three on Tier 1.5 list of “Pokemon GO” are Bite Stone Edge or Crunch, Water Gun Hydro Pump, and Counter Dynamic Punch. Tier 2 has five monsters, namely Lick Hyper Beam, Counter Chase Combat, Extrasensory Solar Beam, Thunder Shock Thunderbolt, and Fresh Breath Blizzard or Ice Beam. There are also five Pokemon on Tier 2.5, made up of Zen Headbutt or Confusion Future Sight, Fire Spin Overheat, Psycho Cut or Confusion Future Sight, Fire Spin Overheat and Shadow Claw Shadow Ball.

Overlapping Monsters

It notes that a species do not always fit squarely into on category. When the list was created, Game Press took into account the priorities because some “Pokemon GO” trainers place a higher value on time, which means they would never use Blissey for an attack. Trainers bad at dodging would not use an Alakazam to attack.

Otakukart, which also came out with a similar list, points out that some gym defenders in “Pokemon GO” are more complicated to take down. But using the top 10 gym attackers on its list would help conquer a gym or prestige it up.
