Legends Underrated and Underplayed Action RPG 'Secret World Legends' Is Coming Back!

Mar 30, 2017 11:46 AM EDT

Funcom's underrated and underplayed yet the best MMO was scheduled to return this spring with a new title, "Secret World Legends." The game is a sequel from the "Sound of Things" which is a totally new free-to-play game that has been developed right on the top of the old one.

"Secret World Legends" literally took everything that has been released in the game to date including its re-works as an action-RPG. The new game has some various features and new changes such as new ways to level up and new combat mechanics; wrapped around the same 100+ hours content in The Secret World.

According to Kotaku, the re-working for "Secret World Legends" is so dramatic where in fact characters from the original version of the game won't be carrying over; a total reboot. Everything in the game will be free to play where no pay-to-win elements added that let other players buy in order to progress. The original version of "Secret World Legends" MMO will continue to exist; however, any new content will be exclusively for the re-launched version of the game.

Players spent around 100 hours digging in with "The Secret World" back when it was first launched in 2012. As reported by Gematsu, the game was a standard MMO in many ways where players can grind their progress out, mess around with crafting systems, ally themselves with one of the three factions; PvP mode, and participate in group activities.

"Secret World Legends" predecessor "The Secret World" sets itself apart because of its Settings. The game's Lovecraftian horror vibe finds a perfect fit in the opening area which is a small New England fishing village inhabited by zombies and other gruesome creatures. "The Secret World" game setting eventually moves far beyond the much-grounded houses and streets of Kingsmouth; the arsenal and the modern-day time period which offers a refreshing break away from the sci-fi/fantasy settings that most MMO players must lean on.
