Android 6.0 for Moto G (2nd Gen) Release Notes Out
The Marshmallow for Moto G2 release notes published on Motorola's customer support page hints Android 6.0 is soon to roll out to the second generation Moto G phones.

The release notes on Android 6.0 for the second generation Moto G smartphones that are now available on Motorola’s customer support page hints subsequent roll out of Android Marshmallow to these mobile units. Other Motorola flagships will soon follow.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow, was first released in October last year to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). International roll out started a couple of months later to compatible mobile devices. The 2GB update will provide additional mobile device functionality such as doze mode, now on tap, android pay, direct share, as well as an easier volume control. The second generation Motorola handsets or Moto G2 was launched on September 2014 with Android 4.4 KitKat as its operating system. It was updated to the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS in January last year. As it has not yet received the 5.1 update, Moto G2 will then be updated directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Notification on the update would reflect on your handset. If you do not receive a notification once the roll out starts, you can check it manually by going to your phone setting and clicking on “About Phone.” Once there, just tap on system update to start with the new OS installation. If you want to know the specific instructions relevant to the installation of the upgrade to Marshmallow, you may want to check out this installation guide provided by the company’s customer support team.

Motorola includes the following handsets for the Marshmallow upgrade: Moto X Pure Edition 2015 and 2014, Moto X Play, Moto G, Moto G (3rd Gen.), DROID Turbo 2, DROID Maxx 2, Moto G (2nd Gen),  DROID Turbo. For updates on the roll-out of Marshmallow to any of these products, head over the company's website.
