Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Scheduled For August, Ahead Of iPhone 8 Launch

Samsung is prepping the Galaxy Note 8 after the Note 7 fiasco. According to the reports, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be released in late August.

Samsung is reportedly going to launch its Galaxy Note 8 in late August, according to The Korea Herald. The South Korean tech giant has often timed its Note release to the late-August IFA show which takes place each year in Berlin.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 rumors have hinted at a 6.3-inch display with the 9:18:5 aspect ratio, which is available on Samsung's current flagships. Galaxy Note 8 is also said to be coming with the same Infinity Display. One of the big challenges which the company is likely to face is that the Galaxy Note 8 not only has gone to toe-to-toe with the iPhone 8, but it also has to be different from a present lot of its own flagship smartphones.

If rumors are to be believed, Apple's anniversary special iPhone 8 might come with some extraordinary features such as AR-integration that now looks highly possible after iOS 11' ARKit platform. The next generation iPhone is also said to a have bezel-less display and latest chipset for superior performance.

The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung's first real chance to restore the line. While the Galaxy S8 was the first device to use Samsung's eight-point battery check for phone safety, it's the Galaxy Note line which needs to come out the other side flame-free, according to CNET.

In addition to the rumored iPhone 8, LG is also expected to arrive with the LG V30, the next generation in its line for power users. All three flagship phones boasting similar premium features can be seen.

Generally, Samsung unveils its new Note series at IFA, which is one of the biggest expos for consumer electronics. This year, the show will begin on September 1, so it's possible that the South Korean tech giant will officially release its Galaxy Note 8 a day or two before that, and offer consumers a hands-on experience at IFA.
