Computex Taipei 2017 was not just a venue for the showdown between the graphic cards of AMD and Intel. The event was also an opportunity for Zotac, a Macau-based computer hardware company, to launch the P1225 Mini PC. The device is a fanless desktop PC smaller than a 2.5-inch hard drive.
The mini PC, also called the ZBOX P1225, is slightly bigger than the Raspberry PI with its dimension of 95mm x 60mm x 9mm, Science Times reports. Inside the P1225 Mini PC is a dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 Apollo Lake processor. Other specs include an Intel HD 500 Gen 9 graphics card and a pre-installed Windows 10 64-bit software.
The P1225 Mini PC has 32GB of eMMC storage and a 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. Its connectivity attributes are a dual USB Type-C Gen 1 port, a microDXC card reader, wireless 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2 software. Its USB ports are capable of DisplayPort aspect because there is no indication if the ZBOX P1225 will have an HDMI output feature. Liliputing notes that Zotac did not announce a release date or tag price for the small PC.
Other than making the P1225 Mini PC, Zotac manufactures video card, motherboards, and other accessories for computers. Besides Macau, Zotac has offices in South Korea, Germany, and the U.S. Zotac was established as a subsidiary of PC Partner in 2006.
Before it made the P1225 Mini PC, considered the world’s smallest PC, Zotac rolled out in 2009 the MAG ND01, also a Mini PC. It had 2GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB Hard Disk Drive, and an Intel Atom 230 or 330 processor.
Other than the P1225 Mini PC, Zotac also introduced at Computex new models such as the Magnus ER51060 and ER51070 with removable desktop GTXX 1060 and 1070 Mini GPUs, respectively. But Zotac has yet to reveal the exact Ryzen CPU for these two new Mini PCs.
