HTC has finally revealed its latest unique flagship HTC U11 during an event in Taiwan. HTC U11 features Edge Sense functionality which brings a completely new category of interaction with the smartphone.
According to GSM Arena, the HTC U11 will be available in Sapphire Blue, Ice White, Amazing Silver, and Solar Red color variants. This smartphone will be launched worldwide within this month, allowing several markets to have it next week with a price tag that starts at $749. For its specs highlights, the HTC U11 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, multiple AI assistants, and its liquid surface designs.
One of HTC U11 main highlight is the HTC Edge Sense feature, it lets users launch the camera, and send texts. Users can customize the squeeze gesture to open the email, and even launch favorite apps and games. As users activate advanced touch mode, they can use a short squeeze along with the squeeze and hold for more functionality in every fingertip; Edge Sense is based on the actual pressure applied to the side of the device.
Talking about its internal specs, the HTC U11 runs on an Android 7.1 Nougat with the company's HTC Sense skin on top can be equipped with dual-SIM cards. It features a 5.5-inch Quad HD 1440 x 2560 pixels Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There is two storage and memory variant which includes a 4GBG RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. For the record, the HTC U11 also offers a storage expansion using a microSD card slot up to 2TB.
According to The Verge, the HTC U11 is equipped with a 12MP camera with 1.4-micron pixel, dual-LED flash, slow-motion, 4K video recording, ultra-spread autofocus, and BSI Sensor. Camera features also include Hyperlapse, HDR Boost, Panorama, 32-second long exposure, Face Detection, RAW format support, and Pro mode with manual control.
The HTC U11 is built with a 3000mAh battery which was estimated to offer up to 24.5 hours of usage time and 14 days of standby; it was also made with Quick Charge 3.0 support and extreme power saving mode. As for its connectivity options, it includes Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/a (2.4GHz & 5GHz), NFC support, USB 3.1 Type-C port, and GPS/ A-GPS.
