Honor 9 Leaks Again With No 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Huawei's sub-brand Honor might be planning to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in the Honor 9 smartphone. The Honor black smartphone claimed to be the Honor 9 was leaked online with images showing every detail of the exterior design that the smartphone is expected to have.

According to The Tech Point, the Honor 9 smartphone images showing details on all the sides reveal that the smartphone is no more sporting a 3.5mm headphone jack. The bottom face of the smartphone is seen featuring a USB-C port placed in between the two identical grilles. The same type of design was also seen in the Honor 8 smartphone in which one grill is the house for microphone and the other for a loudspeaker.

The upper face of the phone is not seen with any headphone jack. The back portion of the Honor 9 is seen having a dual rear camera setup at the back with dual tone LED flash and the company logo sits exactly at the center.

The Honor 9 images also reveal that the fingerprint scanner is not placed at the back. It is expected to be available on the front home button, which clearly indicates that there would be no 'Smart Key' feature.

The images of Honor 9 reveal that the features like the front facing camera, in-call speaker, proximity sensor, laser focus assist, the dual-camera, power button, dual-LED, IR blaster noise canceling mic and the loudspeaker are placed identical to its previous model-Honor 8.

According to GSMArena, the leaked renders of Honor 9 are assumed to be the refreshed Honor 8 smartphone or the Honor 8S. It is speculated that Honor 9 could arrive with the dust and water resistant features as the removal of headphone jack was assumed one of the main reasons that the Cupertino tech giant-Apple considered while making the iPhone 7 waterproof.

It is also speculated that the Honor 9 would come with efficient and improved performance in terms of chipset than the Honor 8. In addition, there are expectations that the Honor 9 will arrive with a larger battery and improved cameras.
