The wait for the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Rogers Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge users is reportedly near end. Canadian carrier Rogers has recently announced that it will start distributing the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge starting Monday, May 1. The Rogers has updated its Nougat Update Schedule to reflect that the roll out will begin May 1 onward.
The news comes more than two months after the upgrade has already started making the rounds for the factory unlocked model of the handsets. Moreover to a multitude of bug fixes, speed optimizations, and stability improvements, the upgrade is supposed to bundle all of the stock features parched into Android 7.0 Nougat, including a drastically revamped user interface, as reported by Sammobile.
As always, Rogers warns, "Sometimes, things change beyond our control so all dates listed are subject to change." Certainly, ask Telus S6 owners just how tentative those dates can be. The Vancouver-based mentioned it planned to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to the Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this month. It then delayed the release before removing it entirely from its update schedule web page.
A spokesperson for the company has told Mobile Syrup that the Android 7.0 Nougat update is still on its way. "We do intend to bring Nougat to the S6 but we're currently working to ensure the best possible experience for our users. The release date will be updated as soon as we're certain the experience will be seamless."
On the other hand, Rogers will also push the latest monthly Android security update to Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P and Xperia X Performance devices on its network on the same day when Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge Nougat update will roll out. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Nougat update has recently started rolling out in India.
