It looks like the latest console of Nintendo, Nintendo Switch, is experiencing some shortages as more online stores announce their stock shortage. Fortunately, Amazon has just announced they are now accepting pre-orders. Moreover, the success of Switch could only mean better things will happen as the Switch Mini arrives.
According to Express, Nintendo Switch is running out of stock to many online stores including Gamestop and Amazon. The only option left for gamers is to order the console on pre-purchase. However, the demand is so high that even pre-order options are already full to selected stores.
Even local stores and Toys R Us has declared they no longer have stocks left and didn’t say when will new units arrive. So all that’s left now is Amazon who may not have stocks ready but can deliver one on pre-order before the month ends. For those who prefer purchasing not on pre-order, they can also visit Nintendo UK site.
Nintendo Switch with the Gray Joy-Con will start shipping by April 28 and will include expansion pass for “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, “Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove”, “Snipperclips”, and “Has Been Heroes”. As for the Nintendo Switch Mini, the smaller device can come as soon as 2019. Experts predict the smaller unit will have its own set of audience, especially to the younger market. "Accordingly, we think Nintendo will launch a lighter, dedicated handheld version of the Switch, possibly to be called the Switch Mini." Said analysts Minami Munakata, Alicia Yap, and Kota Ezawa.
Based on the success of Switch, Switch Mini can bring 6.7 million units sale within one year. This can also start a new trend of the smaller console which can eventually bring down the cost of manufacturing in the future.
