"Halo Wars" was a popular real-time strategy genre game that was created exclusively for Xbox 360 back in 2009. Just like other popular video games, "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" will also feature a co-op enable campaign set in the "Halo" universe and multiplayer modes.
Microsoft recently brings a good news to "Halo Wars" fans, announcing that "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" is available to purchase as a standalone title. This game previously can only be obtained by buying "Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition" back in December.
"Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" that considered as the remastered version will bring improvements in the audio and visual section as well as new achievements and all the original game's DLC. For those who play the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" in the Steam platform, will get the additional contents like Steam Cloud Support, trading cards, achievements, and much more.
Although Steam users get all that bonuses and additional contents, cross-play between Steam and Windows 10 is not possible for the Steam version has its own separate server browser. The story will be different if fans decide to play "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" on Windows 10 or Xbox One as both versions feature Xbox Play Anywhere, providing buyers to access the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" on both platform for free and therefore enabling the cross-play between those two game ports, as reported by Neowin.
The same report can be found in Gamespot that "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" is available to purchase this Thursday on April 20, 2017. The DLC will be accessible on all major platforms (Xbox One, Windows 10, Steam) for $20. It is recommended for gamers to buy the Windows 10 version if they also have Xbox One console, but whatever platform they might choose, fans will be delighted with the new contents.
