This year may have a lot in store for tech enthusiasts as both upcoming killer flagships, the Xiaomi Mi6 and OnePlus 5 will soon hit the stores. Both devices have been leaked in the past and are reported to come with premium design and top-notch specifications.
It's been speculated that both the Xiaomi Mi6 and OnePlus 5 aim to deliver top-of-the-line specs at a great price point. Reports from BGR claim that the OnePlus 5 will sport a 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display with FHD 1080 pixel resolution. It will run using the Android 7.1 Nougat and will include a 4000mAh battery capacity. Further reports indicate that the forthcoming iteration will also be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 packed with a 8GB RAM. It should have an internal storage of 128GB and can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. It will also sport a 25MP rear camera and a 12MP front shooter.
Previous speculations claim that the OnePlus and the OnePlus 2 have model numbers A2001, A2003 and A2005. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 have model numbers A3000, A30003 and A3010. And since the number four is associated with bad luck in China, reports claim that there will not be an OnePlus 4. Thus, it is suggested that the handset with model number A5000 can only be the OnePlus 5.
On the other hand, reports from WCCF Tech indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is tipped to be the most affordable smartphone that will also be sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Compared to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, the Xiaomi Mi6 comes with a cheaper price tag but with impressive internal specs at the same time.
Xiaomi is expected to launch two versions of the Mi 6 series. The Xiaomi Mi6 will sport a 5.2-inch display, while the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus will sport a 5.7-inch Full HD. Both the Xiaomi Mi6 and Xiaomi Mi6 Plus is reported to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 6GB RAM. Further reports claim that the Xiaomi Mi6 and Xiaomi Mi6 Plus will feature 5x Optical Zoom capabilities and both devices have been set to be IP67-certified.
Both the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the OnePlus 5 boast some truly impressive features but the consumers will be the judge as to which will be edgier. Both devices will soon hit the stores this 2017.
