Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been the target of leaks and speculations ever since October 2016 and as long as there is no official announcement from the company, the rumor mill has been going on. Tech enthusiasts have been guessing and predicting about the device's release date, specifications, and others.

With all of these things floating around the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, here's a quick rundown of all the speculations. It now includes a new rumor about the Windows 10 Cloud, an entirely different product by the American multinational tech company.

Regarding the specifications of Microsoft Surface Pro 5, reports are claiming that it will get rid of the proprietary Surface power connector. Paul Thurrott, an award-winning tech journalist and blogger, also suggest in his tweet that the device would use the Intel's Kaby Lake processors.

Thurrott also clarified that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would not change the Surface Connect Power connector but was just told that they are also going to use the Kaby Lake processors. Nothing dramatic about it, he said.

Moreover, the Redmond-based tech company is expected to have a display port of USB-C in their Microsoft Surface Pro 5 devices. But it is expected for Microsoft to opt in retaining the power connector.

In Microsoft Surface Pro 5's predecessor launch, the company warranted the Surface Pro 4 compatibility with Surface Pro 3's Type Covers. With this, it docks stations and power adapters so it might go for USB-C port like the other leading PC manufacturers.

There are also hearsays that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will not retain the dynamic fulcrum hinge and it would switch to a regular laptop-like design instead. The hearsays also said that it would dump the form factor that would hit the $1,000 starting price range.

In an article published by ZDNet, Mary Jo Foley, a known personality in the tech industry, hints that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would not be released at the Spring hardware launch of Surface Book 2.

Microsoft was also observed that they are extending their new products to their Surface brands like the Surface Studio and the Surface Hub. Rumors are going around that they might come out with a different product instead of releasing the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

In an article published by BGR, the publication speculates that the company will release Windows 10 Cloud instead of the Surface Pro 5. If this comes out as true, it will surely disappoint the fans of the Surface series. According to Foley, Windows Cloud is an extension of the Windows RT. It would run on low-priced hardware and it would take on the likes of Google Chromebooks.
