Last month, Apple ousted the iPad Air 2 in favor of its recently launched 9.7-inch iPad 2017. The new iPad carries a reasonable price tag of INR 28,900, which is about $450. The latest tablet from Apple said to be the cheapest iPad from Apple till now.
Apple iPad fanatics who are looking to pre-order the 9.7-inch iPad 2017 iteration can head directly to Flipkart, an Indian electronic commerce company. The Apple 9.7-inch iPad 2017 will be up for sell in two variants including a Wi-Fi only, priced at INR 28,900 that is about $450 and a Wi-Fi+Cellular model priced at INR 39,990, which is about $622. Also, consumers can choose from an array of Polyurethane Smart Covers for the new iPad by shelling out an additional INR 3,700 that is about $58.
It's worth nothing that the Wi-Fi version of the now-defunct iPad Air 2 was launched in India for INR 35,900 that converts to about $558, and the Wi-Fi+Cellular variant was sold for INR 45,900, which is about $714. The 9.7-inch iPad 2017will be available in a wide range of colors that includes pink sand, midnight blue, white and charcoal gray, according to BGR.
Most of the specifications of the new iPad 2017 are similar to iPad Air 2's specs. The 9.7-inch iPad 2017 boasts a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels making up for a pixel density of 264 ppi. Apple has also provided a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, as per The Mobile Indian.
The 2017 model of the iPad features a dual-core A9 chipset that according to Geekbench is clocked at 1.85GHz, or so. The said processor in the9.7-inch iPad 2017 is coupled with M9 motion co-processor, and 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 128GB of storage.
Moreover, the new 9.7-inch iPad 2017 sports an 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front shooter, according to NDTV, but there's more for the users to delve into. Apple's newly launched 9.7-inch iPad comes with access to over 1.3 million apps which are only designed for it.
