OnePlus 5 is going to be the successor of last year's OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, a new report says. Just over a month ago, a number of specs have leaked and appeared online from the OnePlus 5 rumor mill, suggesting that the new device from the Chinese tech giant would have dual-edge screens, 256GB of storage, and a 23MP main camera.
Chinese site PCPop claims to know the specs and features of the upcoming OnePlus 5. The upcoming Android handset dubbed as "The Flagship Killer" will compete against the iPhone 8, the Galaxy S8, and the LG G6.
According to BGR, the OnePlus 5 will reportedly have an all-screen design with small bezels. Similar to Galaxy S8, the OnePlus 5 will not be having a physical home button, and the fingerprint sensor will be relocated to the backside of the phone. However, OnePlus should place it in a more central position than Samsung.
The OnePlus 5 is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor inside, along with as much as 8GB RAM. That might sound shocking at first, but the OnePlus 3 did ship with 6GB RAM last year, so making the jump to the next threshold looks only logical, as reported by Indian Express.
According to GSM Arena, the upcoming OnePlus 5 should also sport a 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution, a 3,000 mAh battery, and a 23-megapixel dual lens rear camera with optical image stabilization and optical zoom features. The report goes on to saying that the phone will be just 7mm thick.
Previous reports, noted by NDTV had indicated that the OnePlus 5 will sport a dual-edge screen and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The Chinese tech giant is also expected to bump the storage on the next flagship to 256GB. Another detail says that the OnePlus 5 may come with a ceramic body similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX.
Currently, it's unclear on when the OnePlus 5 will release or how much will cost. But given OnePlus' history, we expect a summer release for the handset and an affordable price tag as well.
