Xiaomi had announced the arrival of MIUI 9, its latest version of the user interface on March 31, 2017. Sadly, there won't be any update to any Xiaomi phone to the new version. The entire news was a April Fool's prank that the company played. Interestingly, the users were waiting for the ROM for a long time and the tech giant just took advantage of the situation.
Xiaomi took the help of a teaser to fool its customers and it seemed they didn't go wrong. Even though Xiaomi MIUI has not been released, it mentioned some features which would be present on the new user interface. The tech giant gave importance to the camera app that would include new modes and effects. As per Android Headlines, it had also promised the users several fake features, especially camera features. These include the Truth Mode in selfies that is opposite of the beauty mode in selfies.
The mode wouldn't brighten up the face, but would do the opposite. It would show the face as it is. There would also be an Eccentric Beauty Mode PhoneArena reported. This would be the beauty mode for group selfies. However, this would work interestingly and would only make one person look beautiful in the group. There is also likely to be a Couple Match Mode. This would find a person who looks similar to the user. The user needs to upload their photo to enable the feature.
Along with the camera features, Xiaomio MIUI 9 also promised the Positive Energy Mode. As per Xiaomi, it would pay compliments to the user when they take sad selfies. Apart from these, the company also shared the Beauty Map Mode. This mode would provide information on average attractiveness for the people who live in different places.
Interestingly, all of these features are fake and Xiaomi has managed to fool users through the Xiaomi MIUI 9 update. As of now, the Xiaomi MIUI 9 won't arrive soon. If the tech biggie sticks to the release cycle, it won't come until Q2 and Q3.
