Samsung Galaxy X Foldable Phone Will Get Earlier Release Than Galaxy Note 8 In Q3 2017

Mar 31, 2017 07:36 AM EDT

Samsung has made some big plans for this year as the company has announced its latest high-end devices, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Between this, a Chinese leaker well known for his tips about the already announced Galaxy S8 have just recently teased some more information on the next big things from Samsung - the foldable Galaxy X and the Galaxy Note 8.

According to GSM Arena, the leaker says he is a member of Samsung Galaxy Club in China and has a good track record with this lately. Samsung Galaxy X will probably come in two versions i.e. the Samsung Galaxy X1 and the Samsung Galaxy X1+.

A Chinese leaker who's by name @mmddj_china on Twitter posted a couple of tweets that were largely ignored on Thursday since the media was busy following Samsung's announcements from its first Unpacked event of the year. These tweets revealed the information about the Samsung Galaxy X and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Assuming these details are true, we might see Samsung introducing its first foldable phone at some point this summer or most probably at IFA 2017. We already know that Galaxy X is the rumored product name for the foldable Galaxy phone which is supposed to be launched this year. A recent report said that Samsung plans to test the waters with a limited launch in 2017, and see if customers really want foldable devices or not.

Now, the Galaxy Note 8 will be launched a bit late than usual since the tech giant has planned to launch it in Q4 this year. So its launch date will be somewhere in October, November or December, as per Droid Holic.

Recent reports suggested the Galaxy Note 8 will boast a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with 4K resolution. The device is also likely to pack the same speedy processors from the Galaxy S8, and it'll come with Bixby integration too. Also, a purported schematic of the handset leaked. However, of these details can be confirmed at this time
