To use the finding feature, all you need is to open the "Find iPhone" app and look for "AirPods" in the list of devices.
From the list of devices, you can see where your AirPods are located on the map in relation to your other Apple products. For instance, if you tap the AirPods icon in the map, the app will allow you an option to play sound from the AirPods. After you start playing sound, you will see an option to mute the left or the right piece or to stop playing the sound.
It becomes extremely easy to find your lost or misplaced AirPods with this innovative feature. The ability to play sound from the AirPods makes it very easy for the users to locate them. But the most important thing is that all of these steps are only helpful when your AirPods are in the range of your iPhone's Bluetooth.
If your AirPods are far away and then also you can continue the search by roaming your iPhone in your surroundings. You will receive a notification when these AirPods will appear in the Bluetooth range and when they connect with your device.
