MacBook Pro 2017 News: Apple Ignores MacBook Pro Once Again in Recent Round of Updates

Mar 27, 2017 07:01 AM EDT

Apple has released a slew of updates on March 21, which included the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in Red color in 128GB and 256GB sizes, and the storage on the iPhone SE models have also moved up to 32GB and 128GB, Plus the Apple Watch picks up its six-monthly update of additional straps; and a new iPad with the A9 processor and 32GB of storage. Apple fans are sill disappointed for the MacBook Pro update since the MacBook Pro 2017 was rumored to get update this March.

Apple has renovated the lineup of the MacBook Pro last year, but it didn't take too long for the excitement to die out since developers and creative professionals alike being disappointed by the device's new Touch Bar feature. Moreover, a 16GB limit in terms of RAM, as well as the removal of the popular MagSafe connector, wasn't quite a welcome change for the Mac fans, which quickly deemed the MacBook Pro as under-powered and overpriced factor.

Designer Brad Frost in his latest article titled, "Surviving The MacBook Pro," detailed his own experience with Apple's coveted notebook. As per the Frost, the MacBook Pro is nothing to shout about.

Although not spared from faults, Frost managed to point out some things which are worth liking in the new MacBook Pro; for example, the device's Touch ID. As far as the overall user experience is concerned, Frost notes that it is far below the Cupertino-based tech giant's long-established standard of excellence. To uphold his claim, Frost alludes to the much touted Touch Bar stating that he felt the feature was quite "glitchy"  and in fact, more troublesome and lacking in utility. However this is hardly surprisingly since the MacBook Pro devices are said to lack real innovation.

The MacBook Pro 2017 is expected to come with Intel's Kaby Lake processors. However, there's hearsay that this may be held off until October in the bid to highlight the idea that the new Mac series is indeed on an annual cycle just like the iPhones and iPads.

A tweak, according to Forbes' contributor, Ewan Spence, in the production line will set the stage for a MacBook Pro with keys on a single SKU (stock keeping unit) coupled with a deep red bezel giving it an exceptional look. Fascinatingly, Apple has tweaked the watchOS and iOS-powered hardware, while giving the MacOS portfolio the cold shoulder.

Once more in the recent update, Apple has proven to be biased to the MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro device, which everyone can see. While the iOS and watchOS powered hardware is refreshed again the MacOS portfolio is pushed further out of sight.
