'One Punch Man' Latest News: Illustrator Reveals Another Major Manga That He Draws Inspiration From

Oftentimes, the massive following of the manga universe is filled with obsessions on a potential match-up from both of the fans' favorites. But in reality, this imagination often leads up to without any fruition at all, resulting to these manga enthusiasts alone with their fantasies. However, one influential illustrator from one of the famous manga series now, Yusuke Murata, is begging to differ by revealing one of his surprising inspirations.

Comicbook reports on Murata's revelation about "Dragon Ball" in which he draws most of his inspiration from in doing illustrating "One-Punch Man". In one of his live streams on Ustream, Murata has drawn various arts for the forthcoming episodes for the manga. It was during one of these streams in which the illustrator has spoken his love for Akira Toriyama's Japanese media franchise.

A Reddit user under the username of @sysr23 has translated what Muraka had to say about his "Dragon Ball" inspiration. In this, Murata expressed the difficulty of inking the art as his expectations were a bit high. Murata shared, "If its drawn too detailed, it won't match Toriyama-sensei's style, I'll have to stop at one point. My kids love "Dragon Ball" too. I'll bring a copy back after I completed it, and tell him daddy drew "Dragon Ball". It's truly amazing that people from all generations watch Dragon Ball."

Murata has also expressed how he, at one point, messed up "Dragon Ball's" lead character Son Goku's face, indicating that he felt like there was something unusual with how he drew it. Moreover, he noted his best intention to replicate Toriyama's style in illustrating. For "One-Punch Man" fans, they would know that this is not the only time Murata has stressed his admiration for Toriyama.

Previously, "One-Punch Man's" Murata noted that Goku's fight with Piccolo and Freeza was his most favorite. In fact, the illustrator has once drawn the famous face-off between Son Goku and the villainous Freeza to which longtime fans of the manga were truly amazed of.
