A new report has now indicated that Xiaomi's highly-awaited flagship smartphone is about to be unveiled to the public. And the way Xiaomi Mi 6 is being jazzed up at the moment, everyone might want to mark their calendar to witness its release.

As cited by The Indian Express, Chinese website MyDrivers has reported that Xiaomi Mi 6 is scheduled to be announced on April 16. The forthcoming smartphone's release date is not the only information that is making its fans more excited. The unit's purported features and specifications are the true motivation for the phone's now massive following.

Accordingly, Xiaomi Mi 6 is slated to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. This comes as a surprise as everyone has thought that only its rival Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus would be equipped with the much-talked about, powerful chipset. In addition, Xiaomi is reportedly not underclocking the chipset as opposed to the previous speculations that were made. Meanwhile, the report has also shared that the upcoming device will be armed with a 5.2-inch LCD display along with a glorious 2.5 curved glass.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is also expected to come with a ceramic variant, akin to its predecessor Xiaomi Mi 2. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 5 successor has also been speculated to be equipped with a rear camera that is similar to Sony Xperia XZ Premium, hinting that Mi 6 is going to tote around a 19-megapixel shooter that has the capacity to shoots 90 fps slow motion videos at 720p.

As per Phone Radar, Xiaomi Mi 6's rear camera is going to be coupled with a 5MP front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The same publication has also noted that it will be coming in two variants— the standard the and the premium versions. As such, the standard variant is set to feature a Full HD resolution panel while the high-end version will be coming with a Quad HD resolution.

Chinese smartphone mega manufacturer Xiaomi Inc is scheduled to unveil Xiaomi Mi 6 on April 16 in Beijing, China. Its predecessor Xiaomi Mi 5 was released during the same at the annual MWC in 2016.
