iPhone 6 Gold, 32 GB Variant Latest News & Update: ‘Technically’ New Apple Device Set To Be Officially Rolled Out In Taiwan

Mar 06, 2017 01:41 AM EST

The iPhone 6 may have taken a back seat since the launch of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus though it remains a device worth getting. While most have lowered the price a bit, Taiwan customers get a chance to own one with a different shade and bigger capacity.

The iPhone 6 originally debuted in 2015 but did not include a gold variant with 32 GB of storage. That said, the re-launched device is technically new. For those who are unaware, the iPhone 6 came out with 16, 64 and 128 GB storage options only at the time. Folks in the Asian region seem to be the target of the rare device, something that has ‘quietly’ been available in China since late February, 9 to 5 Mac reported.

For those who are unable to find one, Taiwan Mobile will officially launch the iPhone 6 Gold 32 GB variant on March 10. Do take note that the iPhone model is not the one selling the rare variant. The Cupertino company remains focused on the iPhone SE, a budget-friendly device carrying better internal specs but with a smaller display screen.

Speaking of budget-friendly devices, the iPhone 6 Gold 32 GB model is being advertised as a special limited edition and cheapest device on its end. Taiwan Mobile is offering the iPhone variant for about $45 if purchased on a contract that lasts for a period of 30 months. While its imminent coming is expected in Taiwan, there is no official word yet on whether other Asian regions will follow. It is not expected to come out in developed countries like the United States.

Fast-forwarding to the current day, the latest leak reveals that Apple will be releasing three new iPhones in 2018. Two variants are believed to be the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus with the third being the iPhone 8, Nikkei reported. The iPhone 8 is speculated to sport a massive 5.8-inch OLED display which may signal Apple’s shift from the current LCD niche.
