LG G6 is basking from early enthusiasms no less than from big names of wireless telecommunication companies in the U.S. willing to be the phone's carrier. Confirmations from telcos have been respectively sent to LG after a short time when its latest phone was announced to be launched so soon, first in South Korea then in the U.S. and Europe.
So far the top guns of US telcos, which showed high enthusiasm to be the wireless carriers of LG G6 are Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular. Vodafone in Europe followed announcing its confirmation.
But there is a hitch of its innovation per potential users' comments. The 3,300mAh battery of LG G6 is not removable, and being fixed built-in it accordingly has been turning off potential customers before its launch.
LG G6 was launched in a press conference of the company last February 26 during the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona. It is expected to be out in the South Korean market by March 9 or 10 and for U.S. and Europe, it will be in early April.
The simple logic given why the non-removable battery of LG G6 is said to be a turn off is: it is sending a clear message that when the battery dies, the phone's main system and everything dies with it, and vice versa. Users of cell phones have long been used to removable batteries that at times they have another fully charged battery to replace the drained one while they are mobile and they do not have power banks.
But the LG executives just go on making information blitz to LG G6. The phone will be squaring off with the Samsung Galaxy S8 as its great rival in their Korean home market.
LG executives professed that LG G6 is such a sophisticated and gorgeous phone. It is also described as a small phone with a huge screen. And it is made for split screen apps. It has curved sides and glass body, with mostly screen front having a slender bezel. It is water-resistant and its rear has nothing of a camera bump.
During the MWC 2017, the full specs of LG G6 were revealed. It has display size, resolution of 5.7-inch, 2,880x1,440 pixels; pixel density of 565ppi; dimensions (inches) of 5.86x2.83x0.31 in., or 148.9x71.97.x7.9mm. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and has a camera in 13-megapixel, 13-megapixel wide with front-facing camera in 5-megapixel and video capture capacity of 4K.
Moreover, LG G6 has a processor, 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 with Adreno 530 GPU with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM and up to 2TB expandable storage. Special features also included the 18:9 screen ratio and wireless charging. It comes in platinum, black and white color choices.
The sleek, sophisticated-looking LG G6 will be priced $500-$600 (around £400-£490/AU$685-AU$820), per initial announcement of the company. But the retail price will possibly be +$50 (around £40, AU$65). In South Korea, the price would start at 899,800 won (~$795).
