Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced a new Android 7.1 Nougat update for its flagship smartphones, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. The beta build is pushed via OTA (over the air) to all those who agreed to participate in the beta program.

OnePlus has started rolling out the Android 7.1 beta update to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T units. The beta build is weighing in at around 1.32GB and is currently hitting units in China, as per GSM Arena.

However, there's one caveat, as the latest Android 7.1 Nougat beta build is based on HydrogenOS, that means that it is only for the Chinese versions of the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Nevertheless, if you're one of the lucky owners of the OnePlus 3 or 3T, and you must have Android 7.1 Nougat beta on your device, then you can go ahead and update to the new version.

According to Android Soul, the Android 7.1 update brings several new changes, including those related to wallpaper, cloud sync, gallery, and picture editor. Aside from being rolled out Over the Air, the update is also available for download from the H2OS official website.

With the new Android 7.1 Nougat beta, OnePlus has also fixed low-resolution images that wouldn't display correctly when zooming in. The integrated picture editor has also got some new features with the update, such as the option to increase the color temperature and level of correction.

OnePlus has also announced the new Android 7.1 Nougat update brings the March security patch. Some OnePlus 3 and 3T users have also confirmed that the touch latency has been improved in Android 7.1.1 Nougat; however, the change hasn't been mentioned in the official changelog, as reported by Phone Arena.

OnePlus is definitely good with their Android Nougat updates, where other 'big' brands have failed to do so for their lineups. Samsung's flagships Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have not received the Android Nougat update in several countries yet.
