Samsung Electronic's 2016 was mired with occupational and reputational hazards all major brands have been trying to veer away from for obvious reasons. And with its infamous Samsung Galaxy Note 7, people have been quick to add that the South Korean tech player might never recover from it. Well, not until now as Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has just been heralded as the "Best Smartphone of 2016" — a much-needed publicity for the beleaguered company.
As per GSMArena, GSMA has named Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as the "Best Smartphone of 2016" under the "Best Mobile Handsets and Devices" category at the annual Mobile World Congress' "Global Mobile Awards". The same news outlet has shared that Samsung's flagship smartphone has gotten even better when it decided to up its mobile operating system to Android 7.0 Nougat, a potent combination as to why the premium iteration has been well-received despite the Note 7 debacle.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco has also led to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's further admiration as most consumers have opted to swap their problematic phablets to S7 Edge's instead. It is noted for its sufficiently large screen, the dual-edge display and the massive CPU and RAM offerings. On the other hand, the only features most users thought S7 Edge was lacking were an iris scanner, a much larger screen, and the proprietary S-Pen.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics' vice president of Global Product Strategy Juhno Park has shared, "We are honored to be recognized for our craftsmanship in design and innovation with the Galaxy S7 Edge." Park added that the recognition was a justification of the firm's tireless pursuit of excellence as the people behind the company continue to exceed its consumers' expectations through mobile technology.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also features\d a variety of groundbreaking specifications. These include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 for its two variants, a 16-megapixel rear-facing snapper and 5MP front camera, a 3,600mAh non-removable battery, a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and a metal + glass built, as per Android Headlines.
