The AMD Ryzen 7 was recently announced and is expected to compete with Intel's powerful line of processors in 2017. The Ryzen 7 1700, 1700X and 1800X were featured to contend with the Intel Core i7 chipsets. Here is a brief guide on the specifications of the AMD CPUs and where to get these.

According to Tom's Hardware, it took several years for AMD to create the Ryzen 7 processors, which include 4.8 billion 14nm transistors, and two separate CPU complexes with four cores each and 16 threads total. The next-generation chips reportedly increased the IPC of their predecessors by 52%. The new chips performed similarly or better than many of Intel's processors and arrived at significantly lower prices.

The Ryzen 7 1700 is priced at $329, the 1700X at $399, and the 1800X at $499. All three variants have eight cores and 16 threads. The 1700 has a base speed of 3.0GHz, a Turbo speed of 3.7GHz, and a 65W TDP. The 1700X has a base speed of 3.4GHz, a Turbo speed of 3.8GHz, and a 95W TDP. The 1800X has a base speed of 3.6GHz,a Turbo speed of 4.0GHz, and a 95W TDP.

Based on a report by TechTimes, the three Ryzen 7 chipsets are available for pre-orders on Amazon. The processors will be bundled with motherboards or coolers. The 1700X will be packed with the Corsair Hydro H110i liquid cooler for $523. The 1700X will also be available in a bundle with the Asus Prime X370-PRO motherboard for $569. The 1700 will be bundled with the same Asus motherboard for $499.
