This year, Samsung is going to release two big products this year, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. The Tab S3 is going to have its first official look at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but there is already an alleged system dump that would give everyone some details.
In the system dump shown by 9 To 5 Google writer Ben Schoon, images show that Samsung Galaxy S8 is focusing on the camera, fingerprint sensor, and heart rate sensor. Previous leaks have shown that the fingerprint sensor is located on the left side of the camera. Schoon admitted that he is not a fan of the company putting sensors on their smartphones.
But there's a bigger revelation from the system dump: the first look at the on-screen navigation buttons for the Samsung Galaxy S8. This is the company's first smartphone in the recent memory that would bring on-screen navigation. It is also the first device to have a take on back, recent, and home buttons on the on-screen navigation.
With this revelation, this looks like a departure on the usual and traditional stock Android smartphones. Despite the change, Samsung Galaxy S8 still has the looks of the Samsung's older navigation buttons.
The system dump also reveals the image of the DeX Dock, which looks like an HDMI dock for the Galaxy S8. The DeX shown in Samsung Galaxy S8 would be alike with the Microsoft's Continuum or Jide's Remix Singularity. With this, the phone could display a desktop environment when plugged into a display.
In an article at The Verge written by Chris Welch, the leaked photos of Samsung Galaxy S8 and system dump may seem fake. Since the leak came from Venture Beat, he can put aside his doubts.
"The images appear to show the screen turned on, but I'm not entirely sold on that. The shots with Samsung's always-on display (the big clock) seem realistic enough, but the main photo of the screen feels a little fake to me - more static demo unit than actual OLED display," he said in his article.
So how did Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and Samsung Galaxy S8? Ryan Whitman of Forbes explained that there are some diagrams of the latter that was put in the former.
