A few weeks after the release of the Android Marshmallow, and rollouts for updates for Lollipop are still underway. Should the user choose to update over the air, all they need to do would be to head on over to Settings > General > About Device > Software Update > Check for updates. For these specific Samsung Galaxy mobile models, the latest software update should show up on AT&T.

While AT&T was late in rolling out the Lollipop updates for the Samsung flagships, old and new, the rest of the US carriers were not. Here is Droid Report’s previous post regarding the update status of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, across the US carriers: http://www.droidreport.com/android-511-upgrade-status-samsung-s6-s6-edge-across-us-carriers-10973

Meanwhile, Motorola is set to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrades for the Moto G, Moto G2, and Moto G3, starting with the Moto G3 in December 2015. Meanwhile, the Moto G2 may get the Marshmallow update by January or February 2016, and the Moto G will be on Marshmallow by February 2016.

Tip: If you’re shopping for a phone, it may be a good idea to take note of which carriers send out their updates promptly. Remember that updates could also include security patches, which may keep your data secure.
