Android Pay went live 9/10/2015.

Amid conflicting reports and rumors as to when the new payment platform will finally roll out, Google surprised the awaiting public by rolling out the payment platform yesterday, September 10th. The rollout was announced on the Official Android Blog, and posted on the Official Android Google+ account at 11:44:22 AM EDT.

According to the official press release, the platform will work with all four major credit card networks:

-American Express

And the US banks and credit unions that have partnered with the platform include:

-U.S. Bank

-Regions Bank

-Navy Federal Credit Union

-Bank of America

-American Express

The Android Blog states that Wells Fargo will come on board Android Pay within the next few days, and Citi and Capital One are joining the platform soon. The official Android announcement also states that they’re “adding new banks all the time.”

Avid shoppers who may want to try, and even continually use Android Pay can now enjoy the service at Staples, Office Depot/Office Max, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Walgreens. Pet owners may even enjoy the service as they shop for their furbabies at Petco. Parents can use Android Pay to bribe their kids with things from Toys “R” Us, Lego, and the Disney Store. Nike, Foot Locker, and House of Hoops, are also on board. Those who want to grab a bite can use Android Pay at McDonald’s, Jamba Juice, and Panera Bread. Even Coca-Cola and Pepsi are on the payment platform, too. For those who want to shop healthy and organic, Whole Foods Market and Lin's Fresh Market have also adapted Android Pay.

As the Official Android Blog states, Android Pay is now available at 1 Million locations and counting. So check your local merchant and see if they already process payments with Android Pay.

Meanwhile, you can check the Official Android Blog and the Official Android Google+ accounts to see which brands they have confirmed as partners of Android Pay.
