The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update release date is happening now for some European owners of the HTC One. HTC had previously reported that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update would roll out at the end of January and earlier this we the update had gone into OTA certification. The HTC One update 4.19.18 is now rolling out, with a size of 308.24 mb. The update is coming out to HTC One devices in certain parts of Europe, so far unlocked devices in the Nordic countries are being reported and are normally the first to get new software. Android Central suggests that other regions of Europe should get the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update shortly.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will come with the improvements and changes we have already heard about such as the color change for icons, the Hangouts SMS/MMS integration, speed and performance improvement, tap to pay features and wireless printing. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the HTC One will also have some security enhancements and Bluetooth profiles while Adobe Flash on the stock HTC browser is officially dead.

Aside from these features, the HTC One update is still Sense 5.5 and retains much of JellyBean aside from the icon changes. Meanwhile the HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for US consumers is likely to come soon as well as the update is in certification and will likely roll out to users of Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile HTC One’s by the end of the week or early next week.
