Acer’s Releases Of Computex 2013 Day 1

Computex 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan has heralded in a series of new releases by Acer. Here are some of the coolest so far:

Acer Orbe

The Acer Orbe is a wireless storage hub that connects to the AcerCloud service for up to 2TB worth of storage. It can connect to any Android or iOS device, automatically synch across all devices and it can back up everything including the ultraboook, desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone.

Acer Liquid S1

Acer Liquid S1 is a 5.7-inch Android smartphone. It’s a mid-range device with a large screen and it is “powered by a 1.5GHz Mediatek quad-core processor and carries a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The device runs on 1GB of RAM and has dual-SIM capability.” Even better, it has stock Android Jelly Bean 4.2 with 8 GB worth of internal memory that can be expanded to 32GB with a card. Two interesting features it has is the Acer Float, which allows users to multitask without having to close one app to switch to another and the Float Caller which prevents users from being disturbed by a full-screen call alert.

Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook

The Aspire S7 is Acer’s new ultrabook, it’s fairly high end, and will have 4th generation Intel core processors and an optional “new high-resolution display. Acer’s premium ultrabook will be available with a 13.3 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel IPS touchscreen display.” It’s likely to be pricey at $1400-1700.

Acer Iconia W3 8-inch Windows tablet

The Acer Iconia is a Windows 8 Tablet with a small screen, the first one with a screen smaller than 10-inches in fact. It will boast the Intel Atom processor with, “Bluetooth, which users can utilize to connect to the keyboard accessory Acer will sell separately, a 32GB or 64GB SSD and Wi-Fi. The 8 inch display itself is capable of 720p video and features a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.”
