Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: New Features Revealed, Android and iOS Integration Bared

The Windows 10 Fall Creators update is out of the bag and the new features are expected to reach the fingertips of users this September. Among the new features include the Timeline, Pickup Where You Left Off, Clipboard and OneDrive Files On-Demand.

The Windows 10 Fall Creators update was presented by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella during the Build Conference, who also took a swipe at the current WanaCry Ransomware issue that has gotten the world jumpy. He emphasized on how it was the duty of technology companies to ensure the safety of users which is surprisingly something that Microsoft has quickly patched up, Forbes reported.

Microsoft users do not have to download anything extra since the fix will be immediately pushed out. Also, the malware protection engine is automatically enabled by default for Windows 8 operating systems onwards.

Apparently, the Microsoft team has already traced the problem. This was associated with the NScript which is part of the Microsoft Malware Protection engine. NScript was previously not validating information, meaning attackers could easily hide malicious codes in content, according to CVE. There were no reports of issues pertaining to security to date.

As far as the Windows 10 Creators Fall update, there were plenty to digest. At the top of if all was the flexibility the new update would bring in terms of compatibility to Android and iOS platforms. Aside from that, number updates pertaining to Microsoft Cortana, the Microsoft Bot Framework and 29 Cognitive services were revealed.

Additionally, the Build Conference revealed the coming of iTunes/Apple Music and Linux to the Windows Store, broadening the number of apps that would word on the Redmond companies OS. It addresses previous concerns on what the Windows 10 S OS would have to offer in terms of app availability.

Other updates the Windows 10 Creators Fall update will bring include the Microsoft Presentation translator, Azure Cosmos DB, the Azure Cloud Shell addition to the Azure Portal and Batch AI training among others. From the looks of it, there is a lot to expect come September 2017 with the big update.
