Jelly Specs, Release: Smallest 4G Android 7.0 Nougat Running Smartphone In The Works

Unihertz utilized the Kickstarter platform to launch its new smartphone Jelly in a crowdfunding campaign. The smartphone is claimed to be the smallest 4G smartphone running on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The smartphone is said to be amazingly built as an ultra-portable device capable of fitting anywhere.

According to The USN Port, the Unihertz Jelly smartphone features a 2.45-inch screen having a resolution of 240 pixels by 432 pixels. It is reported that the device comes in two variants, the Jelly and Jelly Pro, which will be available in Pearl White, Space Black and Sky Blue.

It is reported that the startup met the milestone of $30,000 and is expected that it could reach $1 million. The customers who backed the project through its crowdfunding campaign is reported to get a Jelly or Jelly Pro in August at the earliest. The first backers will be able to buy the mini 4G Android phone for $59 while $75 for the Pro version.

It is reported that the Unihertz suggested a retail price tag starting at $109 and the company has yet to disclose availability beyond online sales. In addition, it is reported that the shipping destination for Kickstarter units covers the entire world with additional fees depending on the location of customers.

According to KickStarter, Jelly is a mini-sized phone running on Android 7.0 Nougat and supports the ultra-fast 4G network. Jelly smartphone borrows several aspects of Posh Micro X smartphone in its design. Under the hood, both the variants are powered by a quad-core, 1.1 GHz processor.

However, the Jelly variant holds a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal storage while  the Jelly Pro has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Both variants are packed with a dedicated microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 256GB. They also feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

The jelly smartphone includes dual nano SIM slots, Bluetooth 4.0, built-in GPS as the connectivity options. The sensors included in the phone are G-Sensor, compass, and gyroscope. Both the variants are powered by a 950mAh removable battery having up to 3 days working time (average usage) or up to 7 days standby on a single full charge.
