The search giant Google Maps is one of the best and most popular Google's services for the users. Google Maps is a web mapping service which includes satellite views, 360° panoramic street view, traffic condition, and route planning by public transportation. Though the Google Map is very useful for users, it's not that profitable for Google. Google CEO Sundar Pichai thus hinted to introduce ads in Google Maps to monetize it.

According to Business Insider, Google admitted that they have become slow to monetize the Google Maps. Thanking the overwhelming spread of smartphones, Google CEO Sundar Pichai noted that even after a long time of Google Maps initial launch, it still sees some solid user growth. Sundar Pichai also mentioned that being an "integral part" of mobile, Google Maps will play a bigger role, because the augmented reality overlays digital images onto the real world.

The main agenda which helps to create the $610B Google company is- Google's ads business. Google has two main formulae- "good feedback" and "add value", behind this whole popularity of Google ads business. Peoples' satisfaction is one and only priority of Google's ads business.

According to Android Authority, Sundar Pichai have not said anything particularly about monetizing Google Maps, but his hint really gave a good closure that- maybe Google Maps will provide ads like promotional places, coupons for bar, restaurants or movies etc. In an interview, Sundar Pichai stated that anyone can notice Google Maps' recent improvements like live location and user-friendly features. He also included that Google Maps is trying to surface extra info about what someone can do or enjoy when she/he is out for traveling or on a Friday date night. Sundar Pichai is also hoping for great reviews about the whole, introducing ads in Google Maps feature.

Nobody wants to hang their phone by irrelevant ads or offers of Google Maps. So when only searching for nearby places in Google Maps, Google could easily provide some useful ads like promoted places and coupons. Google or Sundar Pichai have not confirmed anything yet about this idea of monetizing Google Map through introducing ads. We hope it will work though.
