The AMD Radeon RX Vega appears close to launching than ever before. AMD has teased information about its upcoming Vega-based graphics cards, revealing that they will sport either 4GB or 8GB memory and hinting that a launch is imminent.

AMD has recently hosted its Tech Summit in Beijing China, which CEO Lisa Su took to the stage teasing about the availability of the Ryzen 5 CPUs. She also cheerfully teased the AMD Radeon RX Vega that by the sound of things might come within a matter of weeks.

AMD Radeon RX Vega's will reportedly sport 4GB or 8GB memory versions, much like the Nvidia enthusiast GPUs. Both the variants will use the second-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM2) that in addition to offering improved memory bandwidth will also provide greater power efficiency. This is something AMD cards have been lacking as of now, as per Segment Next

We have previously seen leaks about the Vega 10 chip and we know that it has 2 HBM2 stacks and it is possible that Vega 11 will only sport 1 stack and that it will be more powerful rather than enthusiast-grade. It was also confirmed previously that there will be more demos as the time for launch comes near.

Scott Herkelman, vice president and GM of Radeon gaming at AMD had suggested that 4GB of HBM2 Vega graphics card memory could potentially have same memory bandwidth as Nvidia's 11GB GTX 1080 Ti. He also added that Radeon RX Vega graphics cards have to be smaller than some of the AMD graphics cards which have been shipped of late, particularly the £200 stop-gap Polaris 10-based RX 480s that appeared in the middle of last year, as per The Inquirer.

During the Beijing summit, Herkelman has also expressed excitement about the AMD Radeon RX Vega card and said that it "is only around the corner." In addition, more and more demos will be shared as its launch draws closer.
