Most continue to wait on the Microsoft Surface Phone, a device most are hoping would come out this year. With no credible update, techies are left to go with the flow and rely on hearsay roaming online. There is an alleged Windows Phone coming out but it is not the Surface Phone that most are eager to see.

This was covered in a previous post, the alleged device will come close to the Microsoft Surface Phone. Among the features include a Cshell and limited to apps available over at the Windows Store. Much of that can be read here.

In that same report, Windows10 was mentioned as the reason behind the delay in the release of the Microsoft Surface Phone. This was revealed by a former employee who even suggested that the best time to expect the device would be either in 2018 or 2019 via Reddit.

Aside from the Windows OS, it remains to be seen what other problems could be delaying the promising handset that CEO Satya Nadella inadvertently promised in February. Seeing that the Microsoft Surface Pro and the Surface Phone would need tweaks, a lot may fall on the operating system flexibility to get all the features up and working.

2018 could be feasible but the best time to wait for it is 2019, Learn Bonds reported. This gives Microsoft more than ample time to come up with a functional device and cover all bases. For now, the best consumer electronics folks to do is wait on the Windows Phone reportedly coming out.

The 2017 Windows Phone will likely pick off from the Lumia series which could be a ploy to test out the Windows 10 mobile capabilities. Apps are expected to be limited for now as Microsoft buys the Surface Phone sometime before it comes out big. A projected date of release for the Windows Phone is later this 2017.
