Apple fans can easily get a first or a second generation Apple Watch right now. While this may be the case, fans are still wondering if the company has any plans to release an Apple Watch 3 version -- and if they do, what features it will have. Several rumors have been circulating online, but all these should be taken with a grain of salt since no official announcements have been made yet.

PC Advisor reports that while a lot of brands that run Android have also released wearable tech, Apple Watch still remains a top seller. There are many loyal fans who would not pick anything, not Apple made. As to what the new version would be named, reliable sources are expecting the next one to be named the Apple Watch 3.

Tech Radar has compiled some leaks about the Apple Watch 3. With regard to its screen, nobody, so far, expects the size or shape of such to change, so fans should expect another square 1.65-inch display. It is highly probable that it will still be OLED since rumor has it that Apple will be adapting that technology for its next projects. There are also rumors saying that the company is considering Micro-LED panels for its next smartwatch. These are brighter and more efficient but will come at a higher cost.

It is said that resolution will remain at 390x312 since there is no visible trend with Apple speeding up progress with the resolution of its devices. Critics say that the second generation Apple Watch's display is not impressively crisp enough, which means that this could be an area of improvement for the Apple Watch 3. For sure, Apple will improve the screen in a way or another, although such would not be too big.

While there are no confirmations yet as to when the Apple Watch 3 will be released, it is said that fans should expect it to ship in around the second half of 2017. This comes from a self-proclaimed leak that says that manufacturing is already commencing necessary preparations, especially for the screen. Other sources say that this smartwatch could come out around September 2017, considering that this would mark exactly a year after the mark of the Apple Watch Series 2.
