iPhone 8 Updates: Leaked Images Show Bezel-less Design, OLED Display, Rear Mounted Touch Sensor & More

Just like any other prospective iPhone, the iPhone 8 has been the subject of many rumors that have been swirling around as early as now. Fans are expecting the next iPhone to be commemorative of the tech giant's success across the years. Needless to say, big changes are to be expected.

BGR says that the iPhone 8 has been spotted in two different "leaks." In the two renders, the iPhone 8 has been shown to feature different colors, with some changes in design compared to previous rumors. Since those talks started, the iPhone 8 has always been promised to feature a substantially different design. It is expected to follow the no bezel trend and feature an OLED display, with the touch sensor embedded underneath such.

9 to 5 Mac says that the leaked images show the iPhone 8 with its Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the iPhone, which lies just beneath the Apple logo. Moving the fingerprint sensor to the rear part, just as some Android phones have done, is the latest trend based on analyst predictions. As of this writing, there have been no reports yet that predict when this flagship smartphone will be mass produced.

These latest predictions seem promising. However, they could be inaccurate depictions of how the iPhone 8 would look like when it ships. This could be even more true when Touch ID gets integrated into the front display. There are other striking details, such as the lack of glass on the rear side. Analysts predict that the next generation iPhone will have its entire front and back covered in glass to accommodate wireless charging. The images show the same black glossy finish on the black version while the white one includes silver and aluminum casing like the previous models.

There have been earlier speculations about an expanded camera setup for this model, but the leaked images do not show this feature on the front display. However, these could be indicators of the design while it is still in the early stages of development.

In earlier photos, a rendering was shown based on rumored specs. This showed the iPhone in four colors including black, white, silver and gold. Surprisingly, the fan favorite rose gold is missing and the layout looks like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
