‘Street Fighter V’ Latest News: Newest Character Named Ed Gets Reveal Trailer

“Street Fighter V” fans can look forward to another playable character-fighter in “Ed,” someone who will be joining the roster of the third season. An official reveal trailer has been released for the protégé of “Balrog” as of this writing.

From his name, “Ed” seems like a so-so character until a “Street Fighter V” gamer is able to use him in the game. No release date has been set though he could be part of the CFN Beta slated to take place from May 11 to 14 according to PlayStation Lifestyle. “Ed” will be the third fighter to join the mix.

So what exactly makes “Ed” so special for “Street Fighter V?” The best way to judge that is looking at his skillset. “Ed” will come in with a special skill called “Psycho Snatcher” which will include a super move in the form of a “Psycho Cannon.” For those who love melee, you will love his “Psycho Barrage” which calls for “Ed” to unleash a barrage of punches to “Street Fighter V” opponents.

As Capcom points out, “Ed” is a special character that thrives on his special “Psycho” moves. All that can be achieved with repeated button presses or holding down a button for long. Only the Critical Art (“Psycho Barrage”) would need the traditional motion for use.

Like most “Street Fighter V” characters, “Ed” does have a story behind him. He was kidnapped at a young age and was an experiment by S.I.N. He was groomed to replace “M. Bison” though is body aged faster. He was raised by Balrog where his character focuses on boxing complimented with some “Pscyho Power” ability.

Technically, this is not the first time that “Ed” has been seen in the “Street Fighter” franchise. He appeared as a young “Ed” in Rose’s “Street Fighter IV” and Balrog’s “Super Street Fighter IV.” To learn more on what is in store, check out the official trailer below.
