Rumors continue to swirl around the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 even if the speculations may seem contradictory to previous rumors. The latest rumor is that the 10th anniversary iPhone could launch at the WWDC in June. To back up the speculation is a Computer Aided Design, or CAD image, of the iPhone 8 based on a leak of the image tweeted by OnLeaks, a tipster.

But OnLeaks admits the CAD image of the speculated iPhone 8 could be fake. It shows the dual-camera set vertically, Phone Arena reports. However, the possibility of the next flagship launching next month conflicts with previous reports that production of the 10th anniversary iPhone is delayed because of insufficient supply of OLED screens that the roll out has been moved to either late 2017 or early 2018.

The CAD image shows there is no Touch ID button on either the back or front of the speculated iPhone 8. It would suggest embedded under the screen is the fingerprint scanner. By removing the standard Home button from the bottom of the iPhone 8, Apple is reportedly improving the screen-to-body ratio that would even be better than the 83 percent achieved by the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, BGR reports.

Apple has been known for seeking a way to embed the Touch ID fingerprint scanner into the iPhone display, based on numerous patents the Cupertino-based tech giant has filed. The CAD image indicates Apple may finally have succeeded.

Express notes that Samsung has removed the physical Home button and the fingerprint scanner on the new Galaxy S8 which it placed on the back of the case. However, many reviewers of the Samsung flagship say the new position of the fingerprint scanner is awkward and hugely irritating. The British daily, which also reported about the CAD image of the speculated iPhone 8, writes that if Apple would be successful in placing the embedded fingerprint scanner under the screen, it would make the next iPhone more appealing that the newly launched Galaxy devices.
