OnePlus Releases OxygenOS Open Beta 5 For OnePlus 3 and 3T

Updates reveal that OnePlus has released a new beta build for its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. According to reports, the developer just released the new build for the popular devices, which introduces lots of features and fixes some bugs that have posed issues to users on the previous build.

It is reported that the new build, which is known as OxygenOS Open Beta 5 - Open Beta 14 for OnePlus 3 - focuses on improvements and fixing the issues that were encountered in the previous beta build that introduced a new launcher and support for Android 7.1.1 shortcuts. The new build fixes some notorious issues including random launcher crash, system reboot when setting wallpaper, faulty wallpaper settings and removed extraneous wallpaper entry.

According to Gizmo China, the OxygenOS Open Beta 5 have also fixed the issues that previously prevent the auto night mode from turning off and changes the default sunrise time from 8 a.m. to 6 a.m. OnePlus also stated that the new build fixes an issue that prevents the auto night mode from staying on as well as a bug in the night mode that causes problems with sRGB.

other reports suggest that the new OxygenOS Open Beta 5 has introduced some Bluetooth optimization including car Bluetooth fixes, battery usage improvements, and auto connection issues have been fixed. It is reported that the community app has also been updated to version 1.8. in the new build.

According to Phone Arena, OxygenOS Open Beta 5 also introduced GPS optimizations which include improved GPS accuracy and minimizes the likelihood of drop connection. The report states that the new build also features dark themes, translation improvements, and many other general bug fixes and optimizations.

Users will be able to access the new OxygenOS Open Beta 5 update on both OnePlus 3 and 3T as an OTA if they have previously flashed another Open Beta update on their device. But users will no longer receive official stable OTAs after migration. However, users who want to return to the stable version after migration will need to completely clear data and cache.
