This year's Consumer Electric Show (CES) was full of virtual reality system and PC gaming announcements. Companies showed off both, gaming systems are not only well suited for pushing serious frame rates in the most demanding modern titles along with powering superior Virtual Reality (VR) gaming experiences.

According to Tom's Hardware, Asus had a number of announcements covering both topics, not all of them involved ultra-expensive machines at the very high end. Recently, one of the most interesting new products was revealed by the company, VivoPC X system offering solid performance in a small and portable chassis. This new device is notable for packing some real power into a tiny frame where it utilizes the latest seventh-generation Intel Core i5 CPU with Nvidia's popular GeForce GTX 1060 GPU.

Asus VivoPC X has the most powerful option available that is combined to provide enough horsepower both running modern titles at high-quality settings in 1080p resolution and powering VR systems like Oculus Rift. As for Asus' VivoPC X specifications, details are a bit sketchy along with its Core i5-7300U, 8GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM, GeForce GTX 1060, and a 512GB SATA SSD that will only cost $800. Asus VivoPC X at $800 is a solid pricing for a highly portable and apparently well-designed gaming PC which is capable of higher frame rates, driving games, and an excellent VR.

Meanwhile, Asus VivoPC X bundles with the Oculus Rift VR system for just low as $1,300. According to Asus' official site, the bundle includes the Oculus Rift headset, four VR-enabled gaming titles, and a Touch controller. However, some tech enthusiasts suggest that the bundle might include two Touch controllers that would be more logical and in line the usual Oculus Rift system offering.

Asus VivoPC X is available on Asus online store and retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy. The good news is that Oculus Rift bundle is going on sale for a limited time, starting April 25 up to June 13, 2017.
