Longevity is one of the rants for gamers who have gotten the Nintendo Switch and thankfully the Japanese company has kept tab of the complaints. The detachable Joy-Con controllers leave a lot to be desired when played off the shelf and a new set of battery packs could account for longer and trouble-free game play.

Nintendo announced the new Joy-Con AA battery pack for the Nintendo Switch, a pair of detachable grips for the wireless controllers. The new battery packs could come out alongside the new neon yellow-colored controllers set to come out on June 16. They controllers will be priced similarly to the default ones at $80 if purchased as a pair. Buying them individually will cost more at $50, Engadget reported. The neon yellow-colored set is the third color variant released for the Nintendo Switch.

The Joy-Con AA Battery Pack accessory for the Nintendo Switch will include an attachment for up to two controllers along with a pair of AA batteries. The battery pack can be easily slid into the rails of each controller, adding a sizeable grip to the back.

In Nintendo Switch-related news, it was announced that the Nintendo has now sold over 906,000 game console units in the United States alone, Kotaku reported. The milestone thus makes the Nintendo Switch the fastest-selling video game system in company history.

In Japan, the Nintendo has already sold nearly half-a-million units meaning the company has already sold nearly 1.5 million game consoles. The number is expected to swell even more once the actual sales numbers from Europe comes in.

One downside is the available supply of the Nintendo Switch. Stocks have been selling fast and the company has been struggling to keep in step with the large demand. Nintendo has vowed to come up with a measure to make sure that demand is met and ensure gamers get their own Nintendo Switch.
