The success story of OnePlus is overwhelming. The first device from the smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus One, gave the company a dream start and won over the consumers with its impressive features and pocket-friendly pricing. Now, several reports are coming our claiming that the upcoming OnePlus 4 aka OnePlus 5 will be a game-changer for the smartphone maker.

The latest smartphone from the Chinese tech giant is OnePlus 3T, which is right among the best despite its mid-tier value. True to their word, the brand is breaking tradition with cheap high-quality phones. However, there was a small technical glitch that plagued all these handsets, which is the touch input latency. This issue is something which caused a delay in phone's response when the user touches the screen. Average users may not notice the glitch, but tech savvies will surely do experienced this issue.

In recent, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei hinted in a Twitter post that the "touch latency" problem has been addressed from the OnePlus' latest flagship, which means the OnePlus 5 will function smoother than its predecessors. With minimal details, that the tech giant has finally "checked off" the issues regarding touch latency on the OnePlus 3/3T.

According to 9to5 Google, Carl Pei's tweet further also reveals that the company's next area of focus is on the alert slider. If you're not aware of this, then you should know that alert slider is currently a feature that only OnePlus takes advantage of, providing a hardware switch on the side of the phone that allows users to change their notification settings quickly. Users have apparently been hoping to see more customizable controls to this feature for a while now, so it will not come in OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5 has the capabilities to challenge premium devices like Samsung Galaxy S8 and the yet-to-be-released iPhone 8. With the aggressive pricing, possibly at $499 device will further boost its prospects.

The OnePlus 3 successor will reportedly be called OnePlus 5 instead of OnePlus 4 since number 4 is considered as an unlucky number in China. According to rumors the upcoming OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with 2,560x1, 440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the latest Android Nougat with 8GB of RAM.
