Release of WhatsApp 1.4.0 Update Makes App Cloner Compatible

WhatsApp has just addressed the incompatibility issue with the App Cloner by releasing the 1.4.0 update. With the update, users of the messaging platform with several accounts for the service no longer need to switch manually. All that users of the clone would need to do is install multiple instances and associate each one with an account.

No More Missing Notifications

With the 1.4.0 WhatsApp update, users no longer have to worry about missing notifications when they are not signed in on a particular account. Prior to the release of the patch, some apps such as Gmail and Chrome would not work. However, with the update, some limited functionalities become available when duplicated, Donklephant reports.

But Gmail and Chrome work directly with the Google account on duplicated installs. Chrome could still not sync on the duplicated version and email on Gmail is available only for IMAP and Yahoo which are external protocols, Android Police reports. Smaller changes that came with the 1.4.0 WhatsApp update allows cloning of the apps from the APK without being installed previously. The cloned apps could be marked for updates and tinkered with individual settings for several clones as well as use of some new language options.

The Apple Clips

Meanwhile, Gizbot reports that after the updates on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, copying Snapchat is the current new trend. Apple also created a clone app, the Apple Clips, as a video editing app which works without any social angle. The app supports 36 languages globally and is exclusive to iOS. Features include live titling and facial analysis.

The 1.4.0 WhatsApp update could be used in unexpected ways such as downloading the App Cloner from the APL Mirror website and then cloning the app itself. For the Apple Clips, iPhone owners could import videos or photos from their camera, stitch the images or take pictures or shoot videos in-app in a square format measuring 1080x1080 like Instagram.
