It's been a month since "Pokemon Go" Generation 2 was released and Niantic players are expecting to have another event to keep them logging in and playing the mobile game. Yesterday, the game has a patch update to make evolution items that will be guaranteed to drop for weekly streaks which have Niantic released the following announcement that a new made-up event does not correspond with an actual holiday.

Niantic Lab freshly announced today that certain water type Pokemon, which include popular starters Totodile and Squirtle, will be a little bit easier to encounter in "Pokemon Go" starting today, Pokemon Go Live reported. As part of the Water Festival, Pokemon such as Squirtle, Magikarp, Totodile and other water type Pokémon have been made more accessible and easy to find by the team at Niantic. So this means that if you live in an area that's far from water bodies and had difficulties in finding these Pokemon, spending more time by logging on "Pokemon Go" the next week will increase your chances in encountering them.

Niantic players who fortunately live close to water and have regularly encountered water type Pokémon, will have a greater chance of coming into contact with different new water type Pokémon that can only be seen in the Johto Region in "Pokemon Go." According to Forbes, Niantic also teased that players might encounter the Rare Lapras; a first generation water-ice type Pokemon, known to be one of the rarest in the game.

Meanwhile, "Pokemon Go" players will be given the chance to equip their avatar with new wardrobe items in celebrating the Water Festival Event such as a Magikarp hat. This event will be the perfect time for all Niantic fans to try and max out their Pokedex with recent additions that have been brought to the game since last month. In "Pokemon Go," Niantic Studios added more than 80 Pokémon in Generation 2 including all Johto Pokemon that are all available in the wild. The limited Water Festival Event will start today at exactly 4 PM ET and runs until March 29, at 4 PM ET.
