Asus Zenfone 4 Shipping Starts In August: Report

Asus had some issues while bringing its new ZenFone 4 lineup to the market. Even if the company has recently unveiled the ZenFone 4Max, four new devices are expected to be introduced in the coming weeks. The latest report says that Asus won't be able to start shipping any ZenFone 4 handset until August.

According to industry sources, Asus is planning to begin shipping its ZenFone 4 handset series this August, which is four months later than originally planned. This delay will cause ASUS to lose out on the global phones market in the third quarter, as a number of other electronics manufacturers will be launching new devices by then, as reported by Phone Arena.

Industry sources have suggested that the reason the Asus ZenFone 4 lineup is being delayed is due to the fact that ASUS is having a design overhaul and efficiency upgrades in the series. It is said that the company will at first reveal just one device at launch, and another smartphone from the series will be revealed later in the year, according to Android Headlines.

This is, however, the second time when Asus has delayed an entire lineup of smartphones. The company has shipped just 10 million ZenFone 3 smartphones last year, which was far less than its original aim of selling 25 million units in 2016.

In the Asus Zenfone 4 series, the latest variant is the Zenfone 4 Max, which is a decent mid-range device featuring 5.5-inch Full HD display, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The phone is coming in two processor variants: Snapdragon 425 and Snapdragon 430. While the former costs RUB 13,900, the pricing on the latter is unknown as of now. The device has dual 13MP sensors on the back and an 8MP on the front. However, the main USP of the phone is its massive 5000 mAh battery.
