Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Latest Leaks Shows Worst Thing About Upcoming Phablet

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the next major Android smartphone to get the release this year, which means it's open season for rumors and leaks. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be a bigger Galaxy S8 variant, even bigger than the Plus model. The Galaxy Note 8 will build upon the Galaxy S8's design, offering an Infinity Display with a better screen-to-body ratio than the 83% achieved by Samsung's current flagship phones.

BGR confirmed Samsung Galaxy Note 8's design with the leak late last month, which claimed that the phone would be Samsung's first to include an in-display fingerprint scanner. The company reportedly wanted to include a next-generation optical sensor in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, but manufacturing difficulties forced the Samsung to use a conventional scanner on the back of the phone next to the camera cluster, which is said to be the worst possible place for it.

Previous leaks have confirmed that there will have no in-display fingerprint sensor in sight from Samsung. Instead, the scanner will once again be placed on the back of the phone next to the camera cluster. And this time, it's an even bigger phone with a wider dual-lens rear camera, so the scanner will be even more uncomfortable to reach, which is the worst thing.

However, yet another leak on Wednesday from a source with a solid track record also confirm the placement of fingerprint scanner. An image of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in a third-party case and the fingerprint scanner can clearly be seen on the rear side of the phone.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 8 during a press conference in late August. The upcoming phablet should then be unveiled in early September ahead of the Apple iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and iPhone 8.
