Google I/O 2013 Conference: Sold Out in 49 Minutes, Droid Report Will Provide Coverage [ANNOUNCEMENT]

By Staff Reporter | May 10, 2013 04:58 PM EDT

The annual I/O developer conference is a pretty big deal among the community. This year all tickets were sold in just 49 minutes while last year it sold out in record time of a little under half-an-hour. Compare this to the 59 minutes it took in 2011, the 50 days it took in 2010 and the 90 days in 2009. The growth of interest in the conference over just these short years has been staggering.

The speed of sale this year is even more remarkable by the fact that tickets are $900 a pop, $300 for students and faculty and that all registrants had to have Google +, Google Wallet accounts and there were many hang-ups and errors with the registration process. Despite all of this ticket’s disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Droid Report will be taking great care in covering the conference to get you the best and most interesting information possible. Sadly we’re not able to attend the conference in person but we will have a room-full of people glued to the live feed 24/7 so that you don’t have to. We will be getting you the latest on it so you don’t have to deal with any of the boring stuff.

The I/O Conference will take place over the course of 3 days from Wednesday, May 15 to Friday, May 17. Click here to view the agenda.

Topics to be covered include: Android, Android gaming, Chrome & Apps, Google +, Google Cloud, Google Maps, YouTube, Knowledge and Structured Data, Tech Talk, Google Ads, Google Glass and Google Wallet.

We’re looking forward to it.
